The Bottleneck of a Screen-Saturated World
As an architect, I've always believed that spaces should invite us to experience life more fully — through touch, scent, and presence. Lately, I've noticed how much we've lost in our shift toward screens and smooth surfaces.
That realisation pushed me to explore a completely different path. Inspired by my experience with interior surfaces, I started playing with natural materials and textures, asking myself: what if I could bring the principles of biophilic design — the ones that make us feel alive in nature — into something small enough to hold, to feel, to carry with you every day?

The Discovery
The true turning point for Aromacover came at a Building Materials Expo in Sofia, Bulgaria. While sourcing materials for interior design, I discovered a family of purely natural, botanical surfaces.
When I first saw, touched, and smelled them, I was captivated. But as an architect, I remained skeptical about durability. The exhibitors handed me a materials catalogue — already two years old — yet it still carried the wonderfully vivid scent of organic alpine herbs and flowers. This was the proof I needed. The natural fragrance wasn't temporary; it was permanently embedded within the dried botanical structures themselves. In that moment, the vision for Aromacover took shape.

Crafting the Senses
The Partnerships
Shortly after the expo, I reached out to the visionaries behind these surfaces, ORGANOID GmbH in Tyrol, Austria. They were immediately excited to help bring this unique multisensory journal collection to life, and today they are our key materials partner.
But sourcing the world’s finest organic surfaces was only half of the journey. To ensure these journals were built to last, I collaborated closely with a local, hand-picked bookbinding studio.
Together, we crafted each detail with intention — selecting materials, designing protective frames, and perfecting the paper within. A luxurious 100-page soft-ivory pad awaits, smooth and luminous, cradling fountain pen ink like morning dew on leaves.

The Lifelong Keepsake
The Refill System
As a designer, sustainability is not a buzzword to me — it is a core requirement of structural honesty. This is why our Standard A5 Workbook features a built-in replaceable paper pad system.
The outer botanical cover, hand-finished with either alpine hay, rose petals, herbal mixes, or vegan coffee leather, is designed to be a permanent keepsake that grows more sentimental as it ages. When you write your final page, you don't store your journal away on a dusty shelf. You simply slide the completed paper pad out and slide a fresh one in — keeping the touch and scent of nature by your side for years to come.

AROMACOVER grew from an overflow of creative energy. Alongside my daily work as an architect, I loved designing visual gifts for fellow creators, but my drive wanted to stretch further. I stepped beyond flat screen graphics to experiment with raw materials, and working with physical, organic textures instantly felt like coming home. Taking the leap to share these journals opened my eyes to design as a living business and the beauty of genuine human connection.
TODAY, Aromacover is in its exciting, raw infancy. I love the hands-on magic of visiting our local printing studio to choose textured papers, select vegan leathers, and refine every protective frame until it is absolutely perfect.
MY DREAM is simply to build a sustainable creative business, proving that we can channel our sensory energy into beautiful, lifelong keepsakes. Balancing my architectural practice with this late-night entrepreneurial passion is a beautiful, deeply fulfilling challenge.
